Video: Willy Moon – I Wanna Be Your Man

On December 4^th the enigmatic Willy Moon releases his debut single ‘I Wanna Be Your Man‘.

‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ throws the sounds of Buddy Holly, Link Wray and Bo Diddley into a breakbeat blender to emerge with a raw, dynamic new fusion of classic 50s rock & roll and surf guitar with hip hop beats and a large dose of Willy’s own unique charisma and attitude.

Already described by The Guardian as sounding like “Bo Diddley remixed by Swiss Beatz“, it’s a sharp and stylish opening gambit from the dapper 21 year old. Originally from New Zealand, after some troubled teen years Willy bought a one-way ticket to London at the age of 18. Initially finding London cold and uninviting he moved to Berlin for a year where he started to hone his distinctive sound. Returning to London he found a new sense of place and purpose and started his mission to distil the raw edges of pop history into his wild two minute blasts of modernist retrophilia.

Already heating up the Radio 1 and XFM playlists, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ will be released digitally on November 14^th with a limited vinyl 7” on December 4^th and is accompanied by a fantastic black & white video that looks 10 times the £150 it cost for his girlfriend to make it and has already built a cult online following for this sharp-dressed part time dandy and full time showman.
